Data describing the household type, as shown below in Table 7-A, is based on data available as an estimate. <br /> The most recent data is from the 2011 American Community Survey. Roughly 66.92% of the housing units in <br /> 2011 were single-family detached houses — this is considerably lower than Sherburne County (78.7%) and only <br /> slightly lower than the State of Minnesota (67.5%). In 2011, roughly 15.1% of the housing units in Elk River were <br /> single-family attached units (townhouses) — this is considerably higher than Sherburne County (5.9%) and the State <br /> of Minnesota (7.2%). In 2011, the City had a fairly consistent percentage of multi-family housing with Sherburne <br /> County and the State of Minnesota.
