Elk River Public Library <br /> City Annual Report 2013 <br /> Report Period : January - December 2013 <br /> Report Date : Monday, March 17, 2014 <br /> Statistics <br /> CIRCULATION : <br /> Physical Collection : Elk River <br /> Total : 333,199 items checked out <br /> Print ( books, magazines, etc. ) : 231,291 checkouts <br /> Media ( DVDs, CDs, ... ) : 101,908 checkouts <br /> Change : % total decrease from 2012 <br /> Digital Collection : Region-Wide <br /> Total ( e-books, downloadable audiobooks ) : 111 ,257 checkouts <br /> Change : % increase from 2012 <br /> People don't come to the library just to borrow materials, though. <br /> They also use our computers, wi-fi, study rooms, meeting room, and <br /> attend programs. Elk River had a % increase from 2012 in wireless <br /> connections per open day. And our library programs, all of which are free <br /> and open to the public, had higher attendance in 2013. <br /> PROGRAMS : Elk River <br /> Attendance : 3,243 people ( % increase from 2012 ) <br /> Programs : 118 ( more than in 2012 ) <br /> Year in Review : <br /> Building / Maintenance <br /> Heat pump replaced at a cost of about $24,000. This was the first major <br /> repair necessary since the library moved to its current building in 2007. <br /> Other News : Four Staff Changes <br /> Library Aide Susan Watts was promoted to Lib. Srvc. Coordinator of the <br /> Cold Spring / Richmond branches of GRRL. Substitute Library Assistants <br /> Lisa Padden and Mick Stoffers resigned to pursue other opportunities. <br /> Mike Rishavy retired, but returns here soon as a Substitute Library Aide. <br />
