9. Sign along Highway 10 <br />GOAL #1 Establish a sign along Highway 10 to promote the Becker Community <br />Center <br />1) Objective: To provide a physical presence in promoting the Becker Community <br />Center on an ongoing basis, as it can't be seen from the highway. <br />2) Key Action Steps <br /> a. Determine what sign(s) are available presently to determine if any of these can <br /> be used for another purpose. <br /> b. Determine what sign(s) are to be established. EDA, Xcel. Etc. <br /> c. Decide what is to be promoted, language on the sign <br /> d. Determine sign size and location. <br /> e. Develop plans and specifications for the sign. <br /> f. Bid/Quote for construction <br /> g. Build the sign <br />3) Budget Requirements <br /> a. Staff time <br /> b. Budget for construction or use available funds <br />4) Primary Responsibilities <br /> a. Cindy Forsell <br /> b. Park and Recreation Committee <br /> c. Joe Rudberg <br /> d. City Council <br />5) Other Considerations <br /> a. Pebble Creek sign could be part of city owned sign. <br /> b. Message sign may be considered now or for the future. <br /> <br />Staff goals for 2002 <br /> <br />Administration <br /> <br />1. Capital Improvement Program was accomplished in Draft form last year. We hope <br />to finalize this for 2003. <br />2. GASB 34, accounting change, significant progress needs to be made with the <br />infrastructure component of this new form of accounting. <br />4. Finish the accounting procedures manual. <br />5. Money Handling Policy for the Community Center. <br />6. Convert Utility Billing system to windows based if program becomes available. <br />7. Rewrite Business Subsidy Policy <br />8. Establish a Tax Abatement Policy <br />9. Incorporate staff files into Central Filing System <br />10. Office maintenance, painting and carpet cleaning <br />11. Review and revise a number of administrative policies <br />12. Revise safety manual <br />13. Revise supervisors manual. <br />14. Look into automated personnel software, consider our options. <br /> <br /> <br />
