Memo to the Park and Recreation Commission <br />Landfill End Use Plan <br />October 9, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br />Overall components or activities envisioned by the Commission include: sledding, archery, <br />trails, picnic areas, a research center, horseshoes, and stargazing. Access from the City's <br />railroad trail will be key, as well as any trails along 221` Avenue. <br />Phasine Plan and Budeet <br />The attached Master Plan outlines a phased approach for end use implementation based on a <br />total implementation period of 25 -30 years. Preliminary project costs are also provided in <br />the Plan to serve as a general guide to overall redevelopment. <br />Recommendation <br />The Commission is asked to review the End Use Master Plan, make suggestions or <br />comments for inclusion, and set aside the Plan until the Landfill submits its formal <br />Conditional Use Permit application in 2003 -04. At that time, the Commission will be asked <br />to review the expansion plan and to recommend adoption, if appropriate, of the End Use <br />Plan. <br />S: \PLANNING\MICHMC \MEMOS \Landfill End Use.doc <br />
