Visit us on the web at www.erstarnews.com · Wednesday, July 3, 2002/Elk River Star News / 5 <br /> [ELK RIV[R <br /> <br />Meetings set to address MnDOT ,hig <br /> <br /> The Minnesota Depart- <br />ment of Transportation is <br />looking for feedback on its <br />long-range studies on seven <br />mai or 'transportation <br />routes in the state, includ- <br />ing the Highway 101/169 <br />and Highway 10 corridors <br />that run through Elk River. <br />The corridors were the <br />subject of a Corridor man- <br /> <br />hway studies <br /> <br />agement plan (CMP) <br />Because they were identi- <br />fied as being at risk of not <br />meeting Mn/DOT perform- <br />ance objectives relating to <br />things like number of acci- <br />dents and average travel <br />speed. <br />The CMPs for both the <br />Highway 101/169 and the <br />Highway 10 corridors will <br /> <br />be presented at a public <br />information meeting <br />Monday, July 8. <br />Businesses and residents <br />who may be affected by <br />changes to the ~ransporta- <br />~ion routes are invited to <br />the meeting to give input <br />on plans being considered. <br />The meeting Will' be in the <br />Elk River City Council <br /> <br />chambers at City Hall. The <br />Highway 101/169 CMP ,will <br />be presented at 7 p.m., and <br />the Highway 10 CMP will <br />be presented ac 8 p.m. <br /> The presentation on each <br />plan will be made by the <br />consulting engineering firm <br />and Mn/DOT. A question- <br />and-answer period will fol- <br />low the presentations. <br /> <br /> City's highways <br /> to be discussed <br /> Elk River City Council <br />has scheduled an informa- <br />tional meeting on the <br />Highway 101/169 and <br />Highway 10 transportation <br />comdor management <br />plans. <br /> The meeting, set for 7 <br />p.m. July 8 at the Elk River <br />City Council chambers, <br />will feature presentations <br />by the proJect's consulting <br />engineering firms and the <br />Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation <br /> The 101/169 corridor <br /> <br />presentation will begin at 7 <br />p.m.. and the Highway 10 <br />presentation is scheduled <br />for 8 p.m. <br />The council is looking for <br />feedback from Elk River <br />citizens and business own- <br />ers on the ~mpact of the <br />plans and recommenda- <br />tions for changes. <br /> <br /> <br />
