Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: I FROM: <br /> Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Wade Lovelette—Superintendent of Technical <br /> John Dietz—Chair Services <br /> Al Nadeau—Vice Chair <br /> Daryl Thompson—Trustee <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> January 14, 2014 6.1d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • The Locating department had a total of 87 locate tickets in December; six of them <br /> being emergency tickets, two cancelations, three meets, 62 normal tickets, one non- <br /> excavation and 13 updated tickets. <br /> • In December 2013, the Security Systems Department had a total of 95 phone <br /> contacts, four systems quoted, 10 system sales made, 11 installs completed, 32 <br /> service calls and four personal visits. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading, power bill, substation checks, <br /> hanging red-tags, meter read-outs and off-peak issues. They continue to change out <br /> the three phase meters to radio read meters. <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run on Dec. 17th. The engines ran <br /> good with no problems. <br /> • Staff continues to collect data with the GPS for our ArcView maps as time permits. <br /> • Jeff is conducting infrared tests on our electric system. He is finding some hot elbow <br /> arresters in cabinets. He then prepares a report and gives it to the Line crew to make <br /> repairs. <br /> • Steve is doing power plant maintenance. <br /> • I attended the annual T&O Conference on December 10-12.
