Sign, Government, means any temporary or permanent Sign erected and maintained by the city, county,
<br /> state or federal government for traffic direction or for identification of or direction to any school,
<br /> hospital,historical site, or public service,property, or facility.
<br /> Sign Heigbt, means the vertical distance measured perpendicularly from the highest point of the Sign
<br /> to the grade of the adjacent street or to the surface grade beneath the Sign,whichever is the greater
<br /> distance.
<br /> Sign, Illegal, means a Sign which has not received a permit to be installed or does not meet the
<br /> requirements of this Code and which has not received legal nonconforming status.
<br /> Sign, Illuminated, means a Sign with an artificial light source incorporated internally or externally for
<br /> the purpose of making the Sign message visible at night.
<br /> Sign, Incidental, means a small Sign, emblem, or decal informing the public of facilities or services
<br /> available on the premises.
<br /> Sign, Marquee, means any Sign attached to or supported by a marquee structure.
<br /> Sign, Monument, means a Freestanding Sign supported by an internal structural framework covered by
<br /> solid structural feature such that the support structure is not visible. The solid structural feature shall
<br /> be at least 75 percent of the Sign width.
<br /> Sign, Moving, means any Sign or device which has any visible moving parts,visible revolving parts, or
<br /> visible mechanical movements.
<br /> Sign, Painted mall, means any Sign which is applied with paint or similar substance on the face of a
<br /> wall.
<br /> Sign, Political, means a temporary sign used in connection with any local, state, or national election or
<br /> referendum.
<br /> Sign, Portable, means a two-sided Sign that is not permanently affixed to a structure or the ground (i.e.
<br /> A-frame or sandwich-board Signs)
<br /> Sign, Private Sale or Event, means a temporary sign advertising private sales of personal property such
<br /> as house sales,garage sales, and the like or private not-for-profit events such as picnics, carnivals,
<br /> bazaars,game nights, art fairs, and craft shows.
<br /> Sign, Projecting means a Sign, other than a Wall Sign,which is attached to and projects perpendicular
<br /> from a building wall.
<br /> Sign, Real Estate, means a Sign advertising the real estate upon which the Sign is located as being for
<br /> rent,lease, or sale.
<br /> Sign, Roof, means a Sign that is mounted on the roof of a building or which is wholly dependent
<br /> upon a building for support and which projects above the roofline of a building with a flat,gambrel,
<br /> or hip roof or the deck line of a building with a mansard roof.
