As part of this process, <br /> the goals of the Downtown Rivers Edge group were identified. <br /> Items of interest include: <br /> • Billboards (height,location in CRT,and the principle use requirement) <br /> • Freestanding signs in the downtown district (allowed, size, and setback), <br /> • Wall signage ratios <br /> • Electronic changeable copy (review process and size) <br /> • Temporary sign (size and permitting) <br /> • General sign permitting <br /> • Window signage maximums, and <br /> • Cabinet signs in the downtown district. <br /> After taking public comments on the initial draft on October 8, 2013, the Planning Commission <br /> continued action on the item to the October 22, 2013, Planning Commission workshop. During this <br /> workshop,a number of recommendations were made to address concerns from the business community. <br /> These recommendations are summarized in the attached amendment request summary and incorporated, <br /> for the most part,in the draft for review on November 12. <br /> At their meeting on November 12, the Planning Commission discussed the two remaining issues, <br /> freestanding signage in the downtown and billboards. The Commission recommends no changes to the <br /> billboard language, but recommends changing the downtown monument sign regulations to permit the <br /> N:\Public Bodies\Agenda Packets\11-18-2013\Fina1\x7.3 sr Sign Ordinance Amendment.docx <br />
