SECTION 5 <br /> 4. Storage of materials, machinery, and equipment <br /> i. Objects, such as motor vehicle parts, containing grease, oil or <br /> other hazardous substances, and unsealed receptacles containing <br /> hazardous materials, shall not be stored in areas susceptible to <br /> runoff. <br /> ii. Any machinery or equipment that is to be repaired or maintained <br /> in areas susceptible to runoff shall be placed in a confined area to <br /> contain leaks, spills, or discharges. <br /> 5. Debris and residue shall be removed, as noted below: <br /> i. All motor vehicle parking lots and private streets shall be swept, at <br /> a minimum of once a year in the spring to remove debris. Such <br /> debris shall be collected and properly disposed. <br /> ii. Fuel and chemical residue or other types of potentially harmful <br /> material, such as animal waste, garbage or batteries shall be <br /> removed as soon as possible and disposed of properly. Hazardous <br /> waste must be disposed of at an appropriate disposal site and shall <br /> not be placed in a trash container. <br /> 6. The City will explore future opportunities to work with the Minnesota <br /> Department of Health and other stakeholders to address source water protection <br /> for surface water intake areas. The City has a wellhead protection plan in place <br /> to address protection of its wellhead protection areas. <br /> 5.7.TMDL <br /> 5.7.1.Policies <br /> 1. If runoff from a construction site requiring an NPDES Construction Permit <br /> discharges within one mile of an impaired water without an approved TMDL or <br /> TMDL Waste Load Allocation the permittee shall meet the requirements outlined <br /> in the NPDES Permit. <br /> 2. If runoff from a construction site requiring an NPDES Construction Permit <br /> discharges within one mile of an impaired water for which there is an approved <br /> TMDL and TMDL Waste Load Allocation: <br /> i. If the TMDL does not identify any specific implementation activities that <br /> would apply to the site discharges, the permittee must meet the <br /> requirements outlined in the NPDES Permit. <br /> ii. If the TMDL identifies specific implementation activities regarding <br /> construction stormwater that would apply to the site discharges, the <br /> permittee must include the flowing in the SWPPP: <br /> Surface Water Management Plan <br /> City of Elk River Section 5 <br /> WSB Project No.1992-030 Page-8 <br />
