Rolfe, Chief of Police <br /> and Presentations <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Street Maintenance Employee Recognition Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Reviewed by <br /> Action Requested <br /> Recognize street maintenance employees Chris Teff and Mike Zappa. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> On October 7,2013, City of Elk River street maintenance employees Christ Teff and Mike Zappa were <br /> working in the area of 194"'Avenue and Lowell Street when their attention was drawn to a male and <br /> female engaged in a heated argument outside of a residence. <br /> The argument rapidly escalated and became physical. Fearing that someone would be injured Mr. Teff <br /> and Mr. Zappa notified 911 and intervened to separate the combatants until police officers arrived. <br /> The prompt action of these two employees contributed to the de-escalation of this incident and the <br /> prevention of injury to the individuals. <br /> The Police Chief will present Mr. Teff and Mr. Zappa with Certificates of Recognition. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> None <br /> Attachments <br /> ■ None <br /> PVawEAEU 0 <br /> mA/� WREI <br />
