U Pass
The U Pass program is still going strong. We have people purchasing passes for March and
April already.
Warming House
Warming House and rink use has been slow this year due to the different weather we've
experienced. We saw a large increase with the snow for a couple of days.
Open Gyms
Our open gyms at the Boys and Girls Club have been going well. The adult ones have been
attended the most and we've had a few requests for a basketball league. We used to have
one and when non-resident fees were added, since 70% of the teams were non-residents, it
stopped getting enough registrations to run. We will look to add a recreational basketball
league next winter.
Summer Programming
T-ball registration has started already and we are beginning to work on additional
summer programs. One new addition will be to our theme day program. We will now be
offering 5 full days of programming as an option for people. One of these days will be an
"All Around Town" day where we will go to various parks and recreational businesses in
the area for activities. Our next program guide will cover May-August.
Cabin Fever Day
Cabin Fever Day was a huge success. Every business we have spoken to is interested in
participating again next year. We offered a free Yoga class as one of our opportunities and
had 29 people attend. We are planning on this being an annual event on the last Saturday of
January. We'll be setting criteria for businesses/organizations to participate to make it easy
to coordinate.
Egg Hunt
We have an egg hunt planned for Lions Park on April 13`hthat will be followed by a free
open skate (with a donation for CAER) at the arena. This event was new to Elk River last
year (last year's was done at the arena) and was very well attended.
Ice Show
The ice show planning is underway. This year's theme is Beauty and the Beast. We have 70
participants at this time.
