I have enclosed a fact sheet that provides details and
information regarding the need and location of the proposed project.
• This project involves the replacement of an existing single-circuit 69 kV transmission line that was
originally constructed in 1950 to provide electrical service to our cooperative members located north of
Elk River. In recent years, several new transmission lines and distribution substations that tap into this
existing transmission line have been constructed and put into service. These newer distribution
substations represent the primary source of electrical power for Elk River Municipal Utilities and
Connexus Energy customers.
GRE invites you and any representatives of the City staff to attend a public informational meeting at 7:00
p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Elk River Recreation facility located in Lions Park Center.
GRE will be sending information and formally inviting Elk River residents and property owners located
along this transmission line corridor to the meeting. The meeting will provide GRE the opportunity to
make a detailed presentation and answer questions regarding the project schedule and construction
process.
Please contact me if you have any questions or if you wish to have a representative of GRE appear at
your next Council meeting.
Sincerely,
GREAT RIVER ENERGY
(pc _11c,A.A.sen""
Rick Heuring
Field Representati
Enclosures
Enclosures
RH:jh\r:l.doc
Direct Dial (763) 241-2337 E-mail rheuringrgrenergv com F X (7 )241 6011
A Touchstone Energy®Cooperative Oa
