Sign,illegal,means a sign which has not received a permit to be installed or does not meet the
<br /> requirements of this Code and which has not received legal nonconforming status.
<br /> Sign,illuminated,means a sign with an artificial light source incorporated internally or externally for
<br /> the purpose of making the sign message visible at night.
<br /> Sign,incidental,means a small sign,emblem, or decal informing the public of facilities or services
<br /> available on the premises.
<br /> Sign,marquee,means any sign attached to or supported by a marquee structure.
<br /> Sign,monument,means a freestanding sign supported by an internal structural framework covered by
<br /> solid structural feature such that the support structure is not visible.The solid structural feature shall
<br /> be at least 75 percent of the sign width.
<br /> Sign,moving,means any sign or device which has any visible moving parts,visible revolving parts, or
<br /> visible mechanical movements.
<br /> Sign,painted wall,means any sign which is applied with paint or similar substance on the face of a
<br /> wall.
<br /> Sign,political, means a temporary sign used in connection with any local,state,or national election or
<br /> referendum.
<br /> Sign,portable,means a two-sided sign that is not permanently affixed to a structure or the ground (i.e.
<br /> A-frame or sandwich-board signs) and does not exceed six(6) square feet per side or four (4) feet in
<br /> height.
<br /> Sign,private sale or event, means a temporary sign advertising private sales of personal property such as
<br /> house sales,garage sales,and the like or private not-for-profit events such as picnics,carnivals,
<br /> bazaars,game nights, art fairs,and craft shows.
<br /> Sign,projecting means a sign,other than a wall sign,which is attached to and projects from a building
<br /> wall more than six inches.
<br /> Sign, Real Estate,means a sign advertising the Real Estate upon which the sign is located as being for
<br /> rent,lease,or sale.
<br /> Sign, roof,means a sign that is mounted on the roof of a building or which is wholly dependent upon
<br /> a building for support and which projects above the roofline of a building with a flat,gambrel or hip
<br /> roof or the deck line of a building with a mansard roof.
<br /> Sign, rotating,means a sign in which the sign itself or any portion of the sign moves in a revolving or
<br /> similar manner.
<br /> Sign, temporary,means any sign designed to be movable from one location to another and which is
<br /> not permanently attached to the ground and/or structure.
<br /> Sign, wall,means a sign attached to a building.This definition includes individual letter and Cabinet
<br /> Signs,and signs on mansards.
