4.2 Subcommittee Updates • <br /> • Education Subcommittee <br /> o The Education Subcommittee met on Tuesday,May 7. The subcommittee <br /> discussed partnering with EDA during Manufacturer's Week in October. The <br /> idea would be to have students tour Metal Craft and Faribault Foods to learn <br /> about their energy efficiency improvements. The subcommittee also discussed <br /> having videos made of the various demonstrations sites and then send the <br /> videos to the schools to create more awareness about Energy City. The <br /> upcoming tours and survey were also discussed. <br /> • Energy Design Subcommittee <br /> o The subcommittee did not meet this month. <br /> • Demonstration Subcommittee <br /> o After the last ECC meeting,the subcommittee met and discussed the forms. <br /> The subcommittee is meeting immediately after the ECC meeting. <br /> • Visionary Subcommittee <br /> o The subcommittee did not meet this month. The members of the <br /> subcommittee are working on summarizing sections of Vancouver's Greenest <br /> City Action Plan. The summaries will help to determine the goals for the ECC. <br /> 5. Other <br /> Pledge of Allegiance <br /> The City Council asked for feedback from the various boards and commissions on adding <br /> the Pledge of Allegiance to the beginning of their meetings. No one was opposed. This <br /> item will be added to future agendas. • <br /> Dennis Dahl <br /> Mr.Dahl is a resident in the Trott Brook Farms development and is interested in installing <br /> solar panels and wind generator on his house. He is interested in working with the ECC to <br /> be a demonstration and create a case study to be used by others who may be interested. <br /> Councilmember Westgaard suggested that Mr.Dahl work with the Demonstration Criteria <br /> and Energy Design Subcommittees as well as Building and Planning. Commissioner <br /> Sagstetter suggested Kelly Johnson,State Electrical Inspector also be contacted. <br /> 6. Schedule Next ECC Meeting and Identify Agenda Items <br /> The next meeting will be held June 19,2013 at the Elk River City Hall in the Upper Town <br /> Conference Room at 8:30 a.m. Items for the agenda include: <br /> • Approval of the May 15,2013 Minutes <br /> • Presentations by Tim Rybak,Elk River School District and Trevor Drake,Clean <br /> Energy Resource Teams (CERT) <br /> • Subcommittee Updates <br /> Potential future speaker for September is Don Yonke. Ms. Haug will contact Mr.Yonke to <br /> see if he is available. Chair Setala will try to get a speaker for the October meeting to discuss <br /> decoupling. Deregulation is also a future topic for the commission to have someone speak <br /> about. <br /> 7. Adjournment <br /> • <br />
