Expenditures <br /> The proposed 2014 budget was developed with the goals and action steps outlined in the 2013-2016 <br /> Strategic Plan, the approved Downtown Plan, City Vision& Goals and the branding implementation <br /> plan. Any major budget changes deviating from the proposed 2014 budget will be brought to the EDA <br /> for consideration. <br /> Major Changes <br /> Personal Services: $12,000 increase in part-time pay for an intern shared with the HRA. 60%/40% split. <br /> The total cost for an EDA/HRA intern for 2014 including all required benefits and pay at$12 per/hour <br /> is $20,000. The HRA has $8,000 budgeted as part of their 40% share. <br /> Supplies: $1,000 increase for a computer for the Assistant Director of Economic Development. He is due <br /> a new computer in 2014. <br /> Other Professional Services: $20,000 is allocated for the implementation of the branding strategic plan <br /> adopted by the EDA and Council on September 12,2011. At the July 29, 2013 EDA Budget Workshop, <br /> the EDA requested a breakdown of the Brand Plan Implementation. The EDA had concerns about <br /> whether or not to continue the Brand Plan in 2014. Even with the decrease, this will enable the EDA Director to finish his remaining three <br /> Economic Development Finance Professional Certification courses through the National Development <br /> Council (NDC). <br />
