Mordal:

I am delighted to inform you that the Elk River Police Department's application for a
1999 Safe & Sober grant has been tentatively accepted. If you wrote the application,
give yourself a pat on the back; if someone else did the work, please pass on the kudos.
As expected, we received requests for much more money than we had available; you
have a definite right to be proud of your work.

I also happy to report that I have been assigned to be your Office of Traffic Safety
coordinator. We have temporarily set aside $33,000 for your Safe & Sober project. I
will call soon to set up a time to come to Elk River to discuss changes in your work plan
or budget that may be necessary and to answer any questions about the Safe & Sober
program.

Thank you for your work on the application package and congratulations again on your
success. I am looking forward to Safe & Sober 1999 and to working with you.

Sincerely,

Safety Program Coordinator

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
