City Council Minutes Page 11 <br /> July 15,2013 <br /> Chief Cunningham asked how staff should address a sign complaint if a hiatus is <br /> taken. <br /> Mayor Dietz noted staff needs clear direction on this item. <br /> Mr. Portner stated the missing component seems to be communication and <br /> education to the public. He suggested staff create various educational materials to <br /> distrubute and handout to violators and for some proactive pieces. He stated this <br /> item could be reviewed again in 2015 to gauge its progress. <br /> Three Councilmembers concurred to enforce the current ordinance and for staff to <br /> work on an educational campaign. <br /> 9.3 2014 Budget <br /> Mr. Simon presented the staff report. <br /> Community Operations and Development (engineering, planning,) IT,building <br /> maintenance presented their requested budgets and goals for 2014. <br /> Mr. Pearson noted the relief association does appreciate the Council's support <br /> (referring to Item 8.3). <br /> 10. Adjournment <br /> Mayor Dietz read a statement to note the City Council will be holding a closed <br /> meeting pursuant to MN Statutes 13D.05 immediately after this meeting in order to <br /> complete a performance evaluation of the city administrator. <br /> There being no further business,Mayor Dietz adjourned the meeting of the Elk <br /> River City Council at 9:00 p.m. <br /> John J.
