The Chief of Police or his/her desisnee nmy allow short-term exceptio~ to the above stated parkin& restrictions u~der certain circumstances if requests for such excep:ions are submit:ed least ~vo hours prior to =he c[me per[od for vh~ch =h~ exception requested, and iff he/she de=e~ines =hat =he sran=ins of such exceptions will no= create problems affeccin~ =he health and safe~ of the citizens or unduly affffect traffic movements or ~reet maintenance opera=ions. Specific examples of events for which exceptions conditions are met include but ar~ no= ~mited =o: a.) family ~acherin~s for special events such as veddinss, ~rad~cions, anniv=rsar~es, and f~erals in residential area~, b.) civic events such as co~uni~ celebrations and parade~, c.) recons=~ct[on or resurfacin~ drivevays, d.) ou= of state v~sitors w~th large R.V. fs. Section 27-~21~ REMOVAL OF ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLES. Any vehicle parked in violation of the ordinance of the C[=y or in violation of any S=a~e law may be removed by towfn~ a= :he direction of the City police to a suitable place for s~orase until claimed by ~he owner or his assnt, and the owner or other person responsible for such parkin~ of =he vehicle shall be liable for the reasonable cost of such cowing and storage. No person driving or being in charge of a motor vehicl- shall permit it to s~and unattended wl~hou~ fl~s~ s:oppin~ the engine, lockin~ ~he t§ni=£on, removin~ the key therefrom, and removin~ the key from the motor vehicle.
