The Utilities expects all employees to work toward this goal. Harassment based on a <br /> person's race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, <br /> age, marital status, genetic information, status with regard to public assistance, veteran <br /> status or any other protected class status may be unlawful and is strictly prohibited by the <br /> Utilities. <br /> Definitions of Sexual and Other Forms of Harassment <br /> Harassment consists of unwelcome conduct based on a person's race, color, creed, <br /> religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, genetic <br /> information, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other protected <br /> class status that is interfering with your job performance, or creating an intimidating, <br /> hostile, or offensive work environment; or when submission to such conduct is: <br /> • a condition of employment; or <br /> • a basis for an employment decision affecting your job. <br /> One form of prohibited harassment is sexual harassment. Sexual harassment includes <br /> unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually motivated physical <br /> contact or other verbal or physical conduct or communication of a sexual nature that is <br /> interfering with your job performance, or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive <br /> work environment; or when submission to such conduct is made: <br /> • a condition of employment; or <br /> • a basis for an employment decision affecting your job. <br /> The Utilities prohibits sexual harassment of any type and in any form, including verbal, <br /> physical, and visual harassment. Some examples of conduct that may be sexual <br /> harassment include: <br /> • use of offensive or demeaning terms that have sexual connotations; <br /> • telling suggestive jokes or stories and conversations about sexual <br /> exploits, sexual preferences, and desires; <br /> • jokes, cartoons,pictures, objects or stories that have a sexual content; <br /> • threats, demands or suggestions that an employee's work status, <br /> advancement or other terms and conditions of employment are <br /> contingent upon the employee's toleration of or acquiescence to <br /> unwelcome sexual advances; <br /> • repeated, unwelcome sexual flirtations, propositions, or invitations to <br /> social engagements; or <br /> • unwelcome and objectionable physical contact or physical proximity. <br /> 4 <br /> October 2011 <br /> 2131 <br />
