In accordance with this, a volunteer <br /> recognition party was held for our volunteers at the Activity Center on April 25th. <br /> During 2012 there were over 100 volunteers that contributed over 4,000 volunteer <br /> hours to both the former Senior Center and the Activity Center. <br /> • A Volunteer Expo sponsored by the Volunteer Bridge was scheduled to be held at <br /> the Activity Center. Due to a snowstorm,the event was cancelled. <br /> • Square dance lessons were held at Lions Park,and interest in this activity continues <br /> to grow. A beginner's square dance event will be held in May. <br /> • Trips included Mystic Lake Casino,which continues to be one of the most popular <br /> trips,with many on a waiting list. <br /> Attendance 2013 <br /> Jan Feb Mac Apr May June July Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec <br /> Monthly 1894 1790 2341 2217* <br /> Totals <br /> Daily 90.19 9421 112.0 100.8 <br /> Average <br /> *Snow days on April 11th and 19th resulted in lower attendance at the Activity Center.Attendance exceeded <br /> April 2012 by 112. <br /> Upcoming May Events: <br /> May is Older Americans month. Special events include the 22nd Annual Older Americans <br /> Month Celebration held at River City Extreme in Monticello. This event is co-sponsored by <br /> Elk River,Monticello and Coon Rapids Senior Centers. The 17th Annual Senior Day Out will <br /> be held on May 8th.
