Sergeant Brian Boos <br />2. Officer William Koch <br />BACKGROUND /DISCUSSION <br />As a result of the retirement of Sergeant Jeff Mordal, the Council authorized the promotion of <br />Sergeant Brian Boos and the hiring of Officer William Koch (pronounced Cook) at the April 1, <br />2013, Council meeting. Sergeant Boos' promotion was effective April 2, 2013. Officer Koch's <br />date of hire is April 15, 2013. <br />It is a tradition in the Police Department that the Oath of Office be administered at an open <br />Council meeting as a means of publicly acknowledging promotions and introducing new officers. <br />The Oath of Office is a public statement of commitment to support the Constitutions of the <br />United States of America and the State of Minnesota and discharge faithfully the assigned duties <br />in the City of Elk River. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />• Oath of Office - Police Sergeant <br />• Oath of Office - Police Officer <br />
