Temporary Planning Assistant/Intern <br /> River Position Description <br /> Department: Immediate Supervisor: <br /> Community Operations and Development/ Community Operations and Development <br /> Planning Deputy Director <br /> Pay Grade: FLSA Status: Last Updated: (date) <br /> $12.00 to $14.00 per hour Non-Exempt 3/2013 <br /> Positions Supervised: <br /> N/A <br /> Position Summary <br /> This position provides work experience in exchange for assistance in the city's planning division. <br /> The Temporary Planning Assistant/Intern will assist the planning staff in a variety of functions as <br /> noted below. <br /> Essential Functions <br /> 1. Responds to requests from citizens and developers on planning and zoning issues. <br /> 2. Assists in the review of building plans,zoning permit applications and development <br /> proposals to assure compliance with requirements. <br /> 3. Assists planning staff in collecting and preparing data for various projects. <br /> 4. Assists in research and analysis of the comprehensive plan. <br /> 5. Conducts field work, collects parcel data and searches land reports. <br /> 6. Prepares maps and planning reports;produces sketches and renderings. <br /> 7. Assists planning staff at community meetings. May present report findings. <br /> 8. Researches funding sources and writes grant proposals. <br /> 9. Conducts basic office functions as needed, such as data entry, file management, and <br /> customer service. <br /> 10. Researches and compiles information on a variety of planning issues from multiple sources. <br /> 11. Provides design ideas for development projects. <br /> 12. Conducts special studies as required. <br /> 13. Other essential job duties. <br /> A. Regular and timely work attendance. <br /> B. Follows all safety procedures. <br /> C.
