This presentation coincided with the stakeholder and public comment period that was open <br /> from December 1 to December 21, 2012. <br /> On March 7,2013, the Fire Service Task Force (Task Force),by unanimous vote, approved the final plan. <br /> The final plan being brought forward includes only a few minor revisions based on comments and <br /> feedback received during the public comment period and from firefighters,which is summarized below: <br /> • Additional wording added to the Mission Statement ("As the Elk River Fire Department,our care <br /> and concern for our community defines our mission to..."). <br /> • Changed IT to IT Division in opening paragraph for Initiative #8. <br /> • Retention added to Goal 1B, Objective 3 ("Develop a new employee orientation/mentoring <br /> program and explore opportunities to retain firefighters"). <br /> On January 2, 2013, the Task Force opened up an additional comment period to solicit feedback from <br /> officers and firefighters. The Task Force considered the comments and feedback at the March 7 meeting. <br /> Thank you to the members of the Task Force for their hard work and dedication to seeing this project <br /> through.
