City. Council NLinutes <br />June 17, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Lion's Club members in attendance indicated their support for the policy changes. <br /> <br />Nh:. IHaers stated that organizations not failing under the 501(c)(3) category might want to <br />be charged the same rate as 501(c)(3) organizations. Those organizations would need to <br />appeal to the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kuester suggested some organizations using the facility on an ongoing basis <br />be allo~ved to handle their own building supervision so they don't have to pay the building <br />supervision fee. Ms. Bergh stated that Recreation would like to remain consistent in <br />enforcing the policy. She ~vould be concerned about issuing keys to the building and feels <br />that the person supervising the building must remain separate from any activities taking <br />place in the building. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE CHANGES TO THE <br />LIONS PARK CENTER POLICY AS PRESENTED. COUNCILMEMBER <br />KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.6. Consider Funding Request from Boys & Girls Club <br /> <br />Development Director of the Boys & Girls Club Peg Riecken stated that the Boys & Girls <br />Club would like to form a partnership ~vith the city. She requested $10,000 from the City <br />Council to help fund a Safety Awareness Program. She discussed the program and its past <br />funding. <br /> <br />Nh:. Klaers suggested that the Boys & Girls Club work with City Recreation and their Safety <br />Camp program. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO DONATE $5,000 FROM THE <br />COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB SAFETY <br />AWARENESS PROGRAM. COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.7. Consider Settlement Agreement ~vith Dwight KSrkeide <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that a settlement agreement has been reached ~vith Mr. <br />Kirkeide for the acquisition of a piece of his property for the Zane Avenue Improvements. <br />Mr. Maurer reviewed the terms of the settlement agreement. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE SETTLEMENT <br />AGREEMENT AND DIRECT THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE IT <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITY. COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.8. Consider Calling Special Council Meedng xvith HRA at 5:00 p.m. on June 24, 2002 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING <br />WITH THE HRA AT 5:00 P.M. ON JUNE 24, 2002 TO REVIEW <br />DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS FOR THE DOWNTOWN AND TO DISCUSS <br />AFFORDABLE HOUSING ISSUES. COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN SECONDED <br />THE MOTION.
