Heinum for Conditional Use Permit <br />Jere m Barnhart, Planning Mana er <br />to amend Barrington Square PUD to allow Physical Recreation <br />REVIEWED BY <br />and Training Uses, Case No. CU 12 -13 <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Staff recommends that the Planning Commission recommend approval of the amendment to the <br />Barrington Square Planned Unit Development (PUD) to allow physical recreation and training uses. <br />BACKGROUND /DISCUSSION <br />The subject property is currently zoned PUD. The Barrington Square PUD agreement was created in <br />1986 and physical recreation and training uses are not allowed by the PUD agreement. The term /use of <br />physical recreation and training is relatively new and has only been incorporated into our ordinance <br />language for approximately five years. The thought of including these uses was not even considered in <br />1995. <br />Some examples of physical recreation and training uses are, but not limited to: dance studios, fitness <br />center, gymnastic studios and karate studios. <br />Land Use <br />The subject property has an underlying land use of Urban Residential which depicts the residential <br />development pattern within the Urban Service Area. The housing units consist of both single - family <br />detached and attached housing units.
