Economic Development Authority Minutes <br />April 23, 2012 <br />issues. Mr. Wilfahrt provided xvideo of citizens and business owners from the Business <br />Expo, explaining what Powered By Nature means to them <br />NIr. Chandler explained that branding of a city is a difficult process, u1 that they do not have <br />the control that private businesses have. He stated that the branding process is ongoing and <br />active. He stated that the goal is to enlist people to tell their own story. :Mr. Chandler- stated <br />that the city is doing a fantastic job and thanked them for allowing Chandler Thirrks to work <br />with the city. <br />Chair Tveite thannked all those involved in branding process for their hard work. <br />Commissioner Dwyer stated that the EDA is aware of the requirement for ongoing <br />commitment to the branding process. He felt the city has the leadership to take it forward. <br />Commissioner Dwyer stated that continuing brand plan implementation steps should appear <br />each year in the EDA workplan. <br />Conuinissioner Zerwas stated that he concurred. 1-k stated that he moved back to Elk River <br />after completing his education because of the caring nature of the community. He explained <br />the communityrallied around his familywhen he was ill, and theydid so again for the Alan <br />Sakty family. <br />6. Executive Director Update <br />Ms. Deckert reviewed highlights of her memo to the EDA, including the potential CDI <br />expansion, sale of the Bluffs, the Main Street Parking Plaza (downtown I IRA propert)), and <br />replatting of the Gateway Business ParlL <br />7.
