Announcements <br /> Ward 1 Vacancy <br /> Mr. Portner reminded Council the closing date is January 15. <br /> Staffing <br /> Mr.Portner welcomed new Community Operations Development Director Suzanne Fischer <br /> and further noted that Director of Economic Development Annie Deckert has resigned. <br /> Hockey Day MN <br /> Mayor Dietz stated Elk River is a finalist for Hockey Day MN for 2014.He discussed the <br /> partnerships and costs that could be involved along with the economic benefit it will provide <br /> to be hosting this event.He suggested forming a committee to work together on bringing <br /> the success of this event to fruition if the city is selected. <br />
