Park&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 <br /> November 14,2012 <br /> 6. Discussion Items <br /> 6.1. NRPA Conservation Video <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker presented a video that was presented at the <br /> National Recreation and Parks Association annual conference. <br /> 7. Parks &Recreation Director Report <br /> Parks and Recreation Director,Michael Hecker updated commission members on upcoming <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission meetings and Field and Facility Use Allocation <br /> Committee meetings. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared several department updates that included items such as,the closing on <br /> Bailey Point property will be on November 20`h and that the City Council will be considering <br /> the $250,000 for the Park Improvement Fund. <br /> Mayor Dietz reported the City Council's discussion regarding the 2013 Park Improvement <br /> Fund and the Ice Arena renovation options. <br /> 8. Division Manager's Reports <br /> Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit reported that staff worked heavily on our new recreation <br /> software system called RecTrac. <br /> Mr.Benoit shared the Activity Center Report and Ice Arena Report. <br /> Mayor Dietz asked if there was a membership required to use the Activity Center and if <br /> there is a resident versus non-resident fee. <br /> Mr. Benoit explained that the membership is one fee and that it is not required to utilize the <br /> facility. <br /> Mayor Dietz asked how the Farmer's Market program went this summer in the new location <br /> downtown. <br /> Mr. Benoit shared the vendors that were there expressed that they made more sales this year <br /> and were excited to have it downtown however,would like to have it open past 6pm. <br /> Commissioner Sagan asked if there could be several locations offered. <br /> Mr. Benoit explained that it could be looked at in the future as the program grows. <br /> 9.
