There was minimal change to the four primary objectives. Redevelopment and Rehabilitation Strategies <br /> were divided into two objectives: Commercial/Industrial Strategies and Residential Strategies. To reflect <br /> the new community brand, Community Image&Marketing was updated to Community Brand. <br /> Also, detailed action steps for each objective are outlined in the attachments. Staff will present the four <br /> priority objectives at the meeting and highlight various action steps and seek input for revisions or <br /> additions of the four primary objectives and strategies. In the past,the HRA and EDA have approved <br /> the final objectives and strategies; staff has moved forward internally with action steps and provided <br /> periodic updates to the commissions. All action steps for Transportation were submitted and will be <br /> executed by the Engineering Depaitment. <br /> On December 3,the HRA discussed the proposed 2013-2016 Strategic Plan and made several comments <br /> and suggestions. Comments include,but are not limited to the following: <br /> • Explore enhancing the Transportation goal to include pedestrian and bicycle traffic. <br /> Commissioners indicated this was important to address,however the EDA/HRA Strategic Plan <br /> may not be the appropriate place to address this issue. <br /> • Modify Industrial Development goal to Business Development and include two sets of strategies: <br /> 1) Industrial Development Strategies, and 2) Commercial Strategies. <br /> • In commercial strategies,include"enhance commercial district through business recruitment." <br /> • Include restaurant marketing somewhere in strategic plan (strategies or detailed action steps). <br /> Staff seeks input on the proposed 2013-2016 Economic Development Plan.
