The event will feature guest <br /> speakers including: Former County Commission and Present Public Utilities <br /> Commissioner, Mrs. Betsy Wergin, Sherburne County Commissioner, Mrs. Rachel <br /> j , Lennard, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann or a Representative from her office, <br /> City of Elk River Mayor, Mr. John Dietz, and Elk River City Council Members. <br /> I <br /> The Landfill anniversary happens to fall during Public Power <br /> Imo , , Week,which is October 7-13. This week is a national event <br /> 1` sponsored in conjunction with the American Public Power <br /> i <br /> 1 1 Association. There are about 2,000 community-owned electric <br /> 1 PUBLIC utilities that collectively provide electricity on a not-for-profit <br /> POWER basis to 46 million Americans. They are operated by local <br /> ®... governments as a public service with the mission of providing <br /> AN AMERICAN TRADITION THAT WORKS electricity in a reliable manner, at a reasonable cost, and with <br /> Public Power Week•October 7-13,2012 proper protection of the environment.
