West, Fire Chief <br /> <br />November 24, 2003 <br /> <br />Fire Department Update <br /> <br />Item <br /> <br />I will be in attendance at the November 24, 2003 City' Council meeting to update the Mayor and City <br />Council on three topics of interest to our community and the Elk River Fire Department. The <br />Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program ',viii have its first orientation with our <br />selected team members on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the new Emergency <br />Operations Center/Training Room at the Public Safety Building. The CERT Team Organizing <br />Committee is very excited with the response from our community and is looking forward to the <br />upcoming training starting in January 2004. <br /> <br />I -,viii also update the Mayor and City Council in reference to the operations at Fire Station 2 located <br />at 13073 Orono Parkway. Discussion areas include: <br /> · Personnel <br /> o Current <br /> o Future <br /> <br />· Equipment <br /> o Current <br /> o Future <br /> <br />· Other Station 2 Items <br /> <br />I will also be happy to answer questions regarding the changes in the fireworks laws during the 2003 <br />Legislative session and how it will affect our inspection process, regulations, and discuss a sample of <br />where fireworks have traditionally been sold within our community. <br /> <br />S:~ Council~Bruce~ fzredeptupdate.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
