The sign must be aesthet- <br /> ically pleasing, with materials simi- <br /> lar to the building constructed. <br /> <br /> d. One on-premises menu board per <br /> drive-up or walk-up lane of a drive-in <br /> restaurant, up to a maximum of 32 <br /> square feet each. Menu boards are <br /> allowed to have a message on one <br /> side only and cannot contain an ad- <br /> vertising message. <br /> <br /> (3) Off-street parking facilities. <br /> <br /> (4) Off-street loading facilities. <br /> <br /> (5) Telephone booths. <br /> <br /> (6) Private recreational facilities. <br /> <br /> (7) Public shelters and essential services. <br /> <br /> (d) Conditional uses. Conditional uses in the <br /> C-2 d/strict are as follows: <br /> <br /> (t) Licensed day care facilities. <br /> <br /> (2) Institutional uses. <br /> <br /> (3) Single-family dwellings. <br /> <br /> (4) Financial institutions. <br /> <br /> (5) Ftmera! parlors. <br /> <br /> (6) Boardinghouses. <br /> <br /> (7) Governmental buildings and facilities. <br /> <br /> (8) Sauna establishments. <br /> <br /> (e) Architectural standards. No provision of <br />section 30-935 except subsection 30-935(2) per- <br />raining to building materials applies to this dis- <br />trict. <br />(Code 1982, § 900.12(11); Ord. No. 02-04, § 2, <br />4-15-2002) <br /> <br /> Sec. 30-1024. C-3 highway commercial dis- <br /> trict. <br /> <br /> (a) Purpose. The purpose of the C-3 highway <br /> commercial district is to recognize the need for <br /> commercial establishments on or serving with <br /> immediate access to major highways. Permitted <br /> 1and uses should take advantage of the highway <br /> access in a manner which other business districts <br /> are not afforded. In addition to retail and com- <br /> mercial uses, quasi-industrial and wholesale en- <br /> terprises that do not meet an industrial setting <br /> and have considerable customer contact are ac- <br /> ceptable in the highway commercial district. <br /> <br /> (b) Permitted uses. Permitted uses in the C-3 <br /> district are as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) Governmental, business and professional <br /> offices. <br /> <br /> (2) Retail shops and stores. <br /> <br /> (3) Personal service establishments. <br /> <br /> (4) Nurseries, produce markets, and garden <br /> centers, which may include outdoor dis- <br /> play. <br /> <br /> (5) Convenience stores. <br /> <br /> (6) Public parks. <br /> <br /> (7) Financial Institutions. <br /> <br /> (8) Sale of firearms. <br /> <br /> (c) Accessory uses. Accessory uses in the C-3 <br />district are as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) Temporary signs as permitted in section <br /> 30-851 et seq. <br /> <br /> (2) Permanent signs. <br /> <br /> a. All signs as permitted in [subsection <br /> (d)(1)] of this section. <br /> <br /> b. One permanent area identification <br /> .sign per neighborhood, subdivision, <br /> or development, not to exceed 64 <br /> square feet in sign area. The area <br /> identification sign shall be located <br /> on the same premise as the develop- <br /> ment it identifies. <br /> <br /> c.
