Thanks to Elk River manufacturers for employing so many residents! <br /> • In 2012, the average wage per job for the nearly 3,000 people employed in manufacturing in <br /> Sherburne County was $50,274. We are lucky to have such great manufacturers in Elk River. <br /> • Minnesota is a national leader in manufactured medical devices,which contribute significantly to the <br /> state's gross domestic product.The export category that includes medical devices accounted for$1.5 <br /> billion in manufactured exports in 2011. Elk River has a number of medical device manufacturers <br /> including Metalcraft and Tescom which each employ over 100 people! <br /> • Each manufacturing job supports another 1.9 jobs elsewhere in the economy through supplier <br /> purchases and employee spending. In all,manufacturing accounts for nearly 850,000 jobs or 33 <br /> percent of all jobs in Minnesota. We appreciate the contribution of the employers and employees of <br /> manufacturers to Elk River! <br /> • Manufacturing employs more people in central Minnesota than any industry sector except health care <br /> and social assistance! We are fortunate to have all of these great employers! <br />
