Subcommittees were established for two of the initiatives to begin background research. <br /> Initiative 1: Staffing and organizational structure <br /> • District Chief Collins <br /> • Mayor Dietz <br /> • Captain Nierenhausen <br /> Initiative 2: Succession planning and career development <br /> • Captain Curtis <br /> • Firefighter King <br /> • Mr. Simon <br /> Initiative 3: Policy development and decision making <br /> No subcommittee was formed on this initiative. To be brought back a later date. <br /> 6. ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION <br /> An opportunity for the Task Force to discuss items that are not on the agenda,including emerging issues facing the fire <br /> service. <br /> Chief Cunningham provided an overview of BaseCamp, a collaboration tool available <br /> for the Task Force. <br /> Members of the Task Force participated in a round table discussion. Summary: <br /> • The Task Force is moving the Fire Department in the right direction;the goal is <br /> to create a more structured and defined organization. <br /> • The Task Force and its proceedings are transparent. <br /> • The Fire Department membership is encouraged to attend. The Task Force is <br /> setting the direction for the future and, as key stakeholders in the organization, <br /> they are welcome to attend the meetings. <br /> Members of the Task Force thanked Lieutenant Collins for attending. <br /> 7. DISCUSS FUTURE AGENDA <br /> The next meeting of the Task Force will be May 2, 2012. The primary focus of the <br /> meeting will be for subcommittee discussion and work. <br /> 8.
