Box 490
Elk River, MN 55330

Dear Pat:

Per our phone conversation here is a brief update on where we are at relative to the
capital campaign and state bonding potential.

Although our capital campaign has just started to date we have raised $185,878 with
another $110,000 available in accumulated reserves. Of the $185,878, $142,607 of
that amount is in the form of reliable pledges. We anticipate the capital campaign
lasting 2-3 years but hope to have the amount needed to do the first building phase
within 1-2 years.

Additionally, we still have high hopes of receiving capital bonding, at least for the
second phase of the project, (the dome).

Senator Ourada and Representative Anderson will be key as we pursue the Minnesota
Amateur Sports Commission's support. (I have already left a message with Sen.
Ourada regarding this necessity)

Enclosed is the most recent copy of the "Minnesota Amateur Sports Review" which
features a capital campaign report on pages 22-24.

We are also in the process of hiring a "Development Director" (see enclosed job
announcement) and also interviewing a capital campaign consultant.

I believe you already have it, but enclosed is our final "case statement" as well as a
campaign brochure. Also enclosed is a recent letter written by MSF president Karen
Larsen.

Should questions arise, please do not hesitate to call.

erely,

Executive Director

enclosures

ASA · USA SOFTBALL

The Minnesota Sports Federation serves as the local association of the Amateur Softball Association.
