Planning Commission Minutes <br />May 8, 2012 <br />• <br />Commissioner Johnson asked if the applicant expects to have the new facility completed in <br />2014. Mr. Barnhart stated that is their hope, but the Commission could add an additional six <br />months or a year if they choose. Commissioner Johnson asked if there were any issues with <br />the neighboring property owners. Mr. Barnhart stated he has received no complaints. <br />Commissioner Keller asked if Spectrum has started plans for the new facility. Mr. Barnhart <br />stated yes, and that the Commission should see plans coming in the future. He stated that <br />the applicant does not want to keep coming back to renew the permit, as it involves time <br />and expense. <br />Commissioner Johnson stated that based on the comments, he was definitely in favor of the <br />request, since the applicant is making progress on plans to build a new facility. <br />Chair Anderson stated that he originally was not in favor of the request when it was first <br />approved, but that the interim use permit will allow the applicant to continue to move <br />forward in securing a permanent location. <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER WESTBERG AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER JOHNSON TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE <br />REQUEST BY SPECTRUM SCHOOL FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT TO <br />ALLOW CONTINUED USE OF 17834 INDUSTRIAL CIRCLE AS A <br />WRESTLING/FITNESS FACILITY, WITH THE FOLLOWING <br />• CONDITIONS: <br />1. INTERIM USE PERMIT SHALL EXPIRE AUGUST 15, 2014 <br />2. AS AN INTERIM USE PERMIT IS NOT A BUILDING PERMIT, THE <br />APPLICANT SHALL OBTAIN ALL REQUIRED PERMITS, INCLUDING <br />APPROVALS FROM THE FIRE CHIEF, CITY ENGINEER AND <br />BUILDING OFFICIAL. <br />3. THE STANDARDS FOR ISSUANCE OF THE CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT SHALL CONTINUE TO BE MAINTAINED. <br />4. DUE TO THE INDUSTRIAL NATURE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD, <br />THE SCHOOL RECOGNIZES THAT NOISE, -ODORS, TRUCK <br />TRAFFIC, AND OTHER UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS MAY BE PRESENT. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />5.
