Click here <br />Elk River Meats wall complete, utility pole removed <br />Friday, June 1 <br />The planned temporary power outage went as planned, and the utility lines were buried the <br />evening of Thursday, May 31. We appreciate the cooperation of the downtown businesses and <br />understand the outage was an inconvenience to some- looking big picture, that temporary <br />inconvenience is well worth the increased traffic a visibility your business will receive upon <br />completion of the lot and arrival of the long anticipated Farmer's Market will bring. <br />Per their request, Century Link has been working on upgrading their phone lines in the project <br />area; phone service is not scheduled to be disrupted as part of our construction. Century Link <br />is upgrading their cables below ground during our construction, however they will not be <br />making any service connection changes for the next month or so. Staff has instructed Century <br />Link to work with their customers to notify them of any planned outage as part of their system <br />• upgrades when they plan to switch customers over. We do not have any specifics for any <br />planned service interruptions, please contact your provider if you have additional questions on <br />how their work may affect your serv=ice. <br />Business Access <br />We are doing everything we can to ensure access to your business through the back door, <br />however there may be times when there is limited access, or access is unavailable. With any <br />construction project, there may be situations in which we have limited to no notice of this <br />occurring, please know that if this does occur, we are doing our best to ensure we are <br />communicating and are working to restore the access as soon as feasible. Underground utility <br />work is nearly complete so we are hopeful the interruptions will be less frequent and less <br />intrusive. <br />Week of June 4-8 <br />Northland Stucco has completed the EFIS work on the wall of Elk River Meats. Peterson and <br />Companies have nearly finished the installation of the storm sewer and water service lines. <br />Peterson and Companies is expecting the parking lot for aggregate base starting <br />today. Construction of concrete curb and. gutter is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June <br />6. If all goes as planned, paver construction may begin as early as Friday, June 8. Crews will <br />also begin work on the trash enclosure structure in the coining week. The trash enclosure will <br />be built with colors that complement the color of the new wall on the Elk River Meats <br />building. All businesses on Jackson and Elk.. River .Meats will be able to put their dumpsters <br />• and recycling bins in the enclosure upon parking lot completion. If you do not currently <br />recy=cle, please contact your trash hauler to ftnd out how you can begin recycling. Not only do <br />you decrease your waste, but you will save money (trash is taxed, recycling is not). You will be <br />
