Chandler explained that branding of a city is a difficult process, in that they do not have <br />the control that private businesses have. He stated that the branding process is ongoing and <br />active. He stated that the goal is to enlist people to tell their own story. nor. Chandler stated <br />that the city is doing a fantastic job and thanked them for allowing ChandlerThinks to work <br />with the city. <br />Chair Tveite thanked all those involved in branding process for their hard a ork <br />Commissioner Dwyer stated that the EDA is aware of the requirement for ongoing <br />commitment to the branding process. He felt the city has the leadership to take it fot~ard. <br />Commissioner Dw}~r stated that continuing brand plan implementation steps should appear <br />each year in the EDA workplan- <br />Commissioner Zerwas stated that he concurred. He stated that he moved back to Elk River <br />after completing his education because of the caring nature of the community. He explained <br />the community rallied around his family when he was ill, and they did so again for the Alan <br />Sakryfamily. <br />6. Executive Director Update <br />Ms. Deckert reviewed highlights of her memo to the EDA, including the potential CDI <br />expansion, sale of the Bluffs, the Maui Street Parking Plaza (downtown HRA property), and <br />replatting of the GatewayBusiness Park <br />Announcements -None <br />8.
