Outside Bam~ers Last month I received a quote for the outside banner from Franklin Outdoor Advertising for the price of $500.00 each, which includes the hardware for the installation of materials. The installation itself would be an estimate of $1,400.00, which includes the installation of four banners and the removal of the existing three. Cal Portner, the City Administrator, suggested to help pay for the banners we possibly could allow the Economic Development Authority, (E.D.A.) advertise their "Power By Nature" campaign on the banners. This led me to think that if we could find an advertiser for each banner we could possibly pay for the replacement of each banner now, as well as pay for the next set of banners that will be needed in four years when the banners need to be replaced. Even if we could receive $1,000 a year for each banner, which I believe is low, we would receive well above the cost of replacing the banners and would generate revenue for future banners and other general needs. I have attached a copy of a banner that shows how the advertising would look. With Commission approval, I would like to move forward with this proposal to the city staff, to make sure we are not violating any city codes, and to the city council for final approval. 9.
