Referendum 98 Time Line <br /> <br />Gather Information: March 1 through May 14 <br /> <br />1. Decisions Resources Mini-survey-small sample phone survey to pinpoint <br /> reasons why first survey lost. <br />2. Outdoor Pool Citizens Group- working group to assist the Parks Commission to <br /> make a recommendation to the Council by mid-May concerning pool type, desired <br /> amenities, location, and cost. Group will be advised to keep recommendation within <br /> $750,000 to $1,250,000 range. <br />3. Campaign Fundraising Needs: a draft campaign budget will be worked out. <br />4. Steering Committee Formed: goal is to get broad-based Steering Committee <br /> involved including: the Chamber, people living close to/users of parks and facilities <br /> due to be up-graded, the churches, Seniors, youth, etc. <br /> <br />Council Decision: May 15 through June 15: <br /> Council and Parks Commission review findings of 1-4 - work out details of referendum <br /> package to be presented to the voters on November 3. <br />Campaign: June 16 through November 2 -designed and carried out by Steering <br />Committee: <br /> <br /> 1. Campaign funds raised(all other items may/may not occur depending on funds raised). <br /> 2. Brochures printed/distributed <br /> 3. Get out the vote phone bank organized/carried out <br /> 4. Speakers Bureau <br /> 5. Signs in referendum designated parks and fields. <br /> 6. Newspaper/Shopper ads <br /> 7. Expo booth <br /> 8. Cable presentation(s) <br /> 9. Letters to the editor <br /> 10. Endorsements from community leaders <br /> <br />Election Day: November 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
