Michelle <br /> <br />Terrell <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Over the past thirteen years, Michelle has participated in and directed numerous complex <br />historical archaeological investigations in Minnesota, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, <br />Tennessee, and the Caribbean. Her completed projects have included both domestic and <br />industrial investigations ranging from the documentation and excavation of a multi- <br />household eighteenth- through nineteenth-century townhouse on the island of Nevis in the <br />Eastern Caribbean to a data recovery of two mid-nineteenth-century brick kilns in Mahaska <br />County, Iowa. Michelle's dissertation The Historical Archaeology of the 17th- and 18th- <br />Century Jewish Community of Nevis, British West Indies was awarded the 2001 Society for <br />Historical Archaeology Dissertation Prize. The prize is given to a recent graduate whose <br />dissertation is considered to be an outstanding contribution to historical archaeology. The <br />winning dissertation will appear as a forthcoming book jointly published by the SHA and <br />the University Press of Florida. Michelle has also authored and co-authored several cultural <br />resources reports for submission to a range of clients and compliance agencies. As a <br />Principal Investigator, her responsibilities include management and supervision of field <br />projects and personnel, analysis and interpretation of field data, and report writing and <br />editing. Michelle has a wide range of skills and expertise including archival research, <br />analysis of historic-period artifacts, graphic design, and webpage construction.
