HISTORIC MILL SITES <br /> <br />Pillsbury "A" Mill, St. Anthony Falls, <br />Minneapolis. A developer is currently working <br />closely with the City, the Minnesota Historical <br />Society, neighborhood groups and many other <br />agencies to plan for the preservation and restoration <br />of this National Historic Landmark and construction <br />of new housing on the Minneapolis riverfront. As <br />part of this work, The 106 Group has conducted an <br />analysis of the archaeological potential for the site. <br />Research has shown that there is potential for .~,u. Field <br /> <br />Washburn "B" and "C" Flour <br />Mill Complexes, Minneapolis. <br />The 106 Group provided historical <br />and archaeological consulting <br />services and conducted a Phase II <br />archaeological evaluation for a <br />portion of the historic Mill Ruins <br />area in anticipation of a <br />development project on the <br />Minneapolis riverfront. <br /> <br />B.F. Nelson Manufacturing Company Site, Boom Island, <br />Minneapolis. The 106 Group assisted the St. Anthony West <br />Neighborhood Organization in addressing their environmental <br />concerns regarding the B.F. Nelson site, while promoting their <br />interest in the area's past. With a grant from the St. Anthony Falls <br />Heritage Board, the neighborhood employed the services of The 106 <br />Group to monitor the MPCA's testing of the site, develop a brochure <br />on the site's history, and create a slideshow presentation for the <br />neighborhood's webpage.
