Re-assign the contracts to RJM Construction in accordance with our Construction Manager at <br />risk agreement. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />Over the past several months, the Public Works Committee has been working with 292 Design Group <br />and RJM Construction on the preconstruction process. On January 9, 2012, the City Council authorized <br />the advertisement of Phase II bids. Phase II of the project involves the construction of the new building <br />addition and associated renovations to the existing facility. Brian Recker from RJM Construction will be <br />in attendance to present the results of the bids that were received on January 31, 2012. <br />Timeline for Phase II: <br />Council Approval for Advertisement to Bid January 9, 2012 <br />Receive Bids for Phase II January 31, 2012 <br />City Council Award of Phase II Contractors February 21, 2012 <br />Phase II Construction Apri12, 2012 -January 15, 2013 <br />The Public Works Committee has worked diligently through the design process to assure the project <br />could be delivered within budget. With the assistance of the 292 Design Group and RJM Construction, <br />we have conducted a thorough evaluation of all components of the facility. Decisions to add and remove <br />components were made throughout the process, to assure the project meets the budget yet delivers a final <br />product that meets the goals for its projected uses over the next 40-years. The Public Works Committee <br />recommends award of the contracts and alternatives as detailed in the attached memo from RJM <br />Construction. <br />F I NANCIA<. I MPACT <br />A breakdown of each bid category and its associated costs is included in the attached memo from RJM <br />Construction. These bid prices reflect the amount the City of Elk River will pay for the project. Through <br />our construction manager at risk agreement with RJM Construction, they guarantee to deliver the project <br />at the prices bid. RJM's 95% budget estimate was $8,886,235 for construction with a total project cost of <br />$9,579,135.
