RESOLUTION # 12- <br />RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING <br />CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE <br />CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations and <br />individuals for their contributions to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, while serving the community, police K-9s face the same dangers as their <br />human partners; and <br />WHEREAS, the value of body armor in protecting police officers has long been <br />recognized, however, providing the officer's K-9 partner the same protection has often been <br />overlooked; and <br />WHEREAS, Karla and Pat Reinhart of Isanti County are dog lovers who recognize the <br />unique dangers faced by police K-9s; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reinhart's generously donated police K-9 body armor to the City of Elk <br />River with the intent it be used by the Police Department for their K-9 Zeus. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the Ciry of Elk River <br />hereby acknowledges the support and commend the Reinhart's for their generous donation. <br />Passed and adopted by the City Council of the Ciry of Elk River this 6~' day of February <br />2012. <br />John J.
