The event will be Thursday Feb 23 from 11:30Am to 1PM. <br />Park and Rec: Stephanie Alban's husband passed away last weekend. Our Sympathies go out to <br />her. We will send a memorial gift/flowers to her. <br />Website/Facebookc Clay is spearheading the effort to make the website and facebook work in a <br />more automated fashion and will help us figure out the best way for RiversEdge members to post <br />information on their businesses facebook page that will be disseminated to RiversEge's facebook <br />page and easy to update. We need to be monitoring our facebook page to make sure that general <br />posts are appropriate. <br />Holiday Downtown Celebration Recap: The weather was great. The line to see Santa stretched to <br />the bakery most of the day. Probably the best turnout so far! Santa and Mrs.Claus did a great job. <br />The animals were cute. People enjoyed watching the dancing of the nutcrackers in front of <br />Edward Jones. Goldenman's gave us a great deal on the tree. They delivered it for $150.00. We <br />will need to arrange help from the City Utilities department to help put the tree up and safely <br />secure it next year. Next. year we need to get it up sooner (Weekend after Thanksgiving) and <br />leave it up longer. At the price of artificial trees, we will continue to get a live tree. We should <br />plan a downtown tree lighting ceremony when the tree goes up. Thank you to all who helped <br />make arrangements for the tree and decorate it! <br />Chamber Update: Shiver Elk River will be held on 2/25/2012. Organizations who are SOlc3 can <br />take pledges for a member of their group to take the polar plunge. 90% of Pledge money will be <br />given to the groups. BusinessBnergy Expo will be held on March 25, 2012. A motion was made <br />and carried to pay the fee to have a RiversEdge Booth at this event. <br />Downtown Retail Directory: Wendy has been updating the directory and is waiting for an <br />updated map from Chris Leesberg from the City of Elk River. We will print out 1000 glossy <br />color directories to have on hand to give out at the SnoCross Event. <br />Downtown Promotions for SnoCross Race March 9th through 11th: Fred has been talking to a Bus <br />company about having a shuttle bus loop from the Holiday Inn in Otsego (Host Hotel for the <br />event) through downtown to the Race Track and back during the event. He will talk to Chris <br />Carlson, participating hotels and possibly Buffalo Wild Wings to see about sharing the costs. It <br />would take some of the parking pressure off ERX if some of the visitors could park off site. <br />We will have a table at the host hotel to promote Downtown Businesses. Please prepare <br />promotional items for your business -business flyers, special offers, coupons etc that can be <br />
