Memo to Mayor and City Council/GP 98-3 <br />February 17, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />The proposed location for the greenhouse is near the southwest corner of the <br />parking lot along Evans Street. The location is out of the main flow of traffic <br />and will take up about 20 parking spaces. <br /> <br />Plant Place has conducted their greenhouse business from this location for <br />the past 3 years without any complaints and there have been no reports of <br />any problems associated with their operation. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of Jim Schoers request for a general planning <br />permit to allow a temporary greenhouse/garden center at the Sax Food <br />parking lot with the following conditions: <br /> <br />IF TRAFFIC BECOMES A PROBLEM AROUND THE SITE, THE SALES AREA SHOULD BE <br />DELINEATED WITH SOME TYPE OF BARRIER TO RESTRICT TRAFFIC. <br /> <br />THE GREENHOUSE/GARDEN CENTER MUST BE KEPT IN GOOD CONDITION <br />THROUGHOUT THE TIME IT IS IN PLACE. <br /> <br />3. THE LOCATION OF THE GREENHOUSE WILL BE CONSISTENT WITH THE SITE PLAN. <br /> <br />THE GREENHOUSE AND DISPLAY AREA SHALL BE REMOVED WITHIN 1 WEEK OF THE <br />END OF SALES AND THE SITE RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION. <br /> <br />\\elkriver\sys\shrdoc\planning\scott\gp98-3.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
