· Highway 169 pedestrian bridge - ISTEA funding for part of the <br /> project has been approved for FY 2000 and the city participation is <br /> in the $300,000 - $350,000 range... Congressman Oberstar has <br /> requested funding for the entire project as a demonstration project <br />· Lion's Park building (Boys and Girls Club project)...the level of <br /> city participation is unknown at this time <br />· Ice arena needs.., a financial review of the operation of the Ice <br /> Arena is scheduled for May 4 when the Finance Department <br /> Annual Report and the Audit is presented to the Council...It is <br /> apparent that the needs outweigh the available funds and that <br /> initial building corrections and improvements are required <br />· School Street...extension of School Street as a four lane road to <br /> and through Proctor Avenue... a school petition for the project is <br /> desired]required so that they will pay half of the cost of the project <br /> as the benefited property owner <br />· Business Center DriveAVaco Street and signal...it is <br /> foreseeable that this could be a requested project for 1999... a <br /> commercial user or a larger industrial project could trigger this <br /> project <br />· Street department equipment...most of the equipment in the <br /> street department has been financed with equipment certificates <br /> and most of the equipment has been used...the department is now <br /> requesting the Council to consider new equipment purchases which <br /> significantly increase the cost of equipment and there are no <br /> resources currently available other than equipment <br /> certificates...this tax levy issue needs to be discussed by the <br /> Council <br />· Fire department issues...land for a future satellite building <br /> (]_ocation?)...timetable for a satellite facihty...a $75,000 fire truck <br /> chassis requested for 1999...the Opticon signal system <br />· East Elk River youth area complex - Phase II park/youth <br /> fields...no plans until a bond referendum is approved <br />· Park and Recreation public referendum - November issue <br /> before the voters...the Commission is meeting with Decision <br /> Resources in February and a recommendation from the commission <br /> will be reviewed at a joint meeting with the Council... a big issue is <br /> whether or not an outdoor pool is included or excluded <br /> <br />Councilmembers should come to the meeting prepared to offer comments on <br />the above list of projects and to prioritize their desires for 1998-99. <br />Additionally, any new projects not on the hst are welcome to be added and <br />discussed at this worksession. <br /> <br /> <br />
