Elk Riv <br />Municipal Utilities <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />puwl`eEO sr <br />a~V~~ <br />P O W E R E D T O S E R V E <br />TO: FROM: <br />Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Wade Lovelette-Superintendent of Technical <br />John Dietz, Chair Services <br />Daryl Thompson, Vice Chair <br />Al Nadeau, Trustee <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />Janu 10, 2012 6.1 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Updates -Superintendent of Technical Services <br />• The Locating department had a total of 99 locate tickets for the month of December, three <br />of them being emergency tickets. <br />• In December, the Security Systems Department had a total of 76 phone contacts, 12 new <br />systems quoted, nine system sales made, 10 installs completed, 25 service calls made and <br />12 personal visits. <br />• The Meter shop continues changing electric and water meters. Meter Techs assisted the <br />Line Department in changing out a substation feeder re-closer and controller. The <br />controller had to be sent back because of a malfunction and the re-closer had to be sent <br />back because of internal loose parts. <br />• Staff is doing home energy audits. <br />• The power plant staff did the monthly run of the generators. Engines ran well. We are <br />still waiting for Ex-Line to come and help our staff repair the fuel problem on Engine #3. <br />• I attended the Technical & Operations Conference last month. Besides attending the new <br />products trade show, I learned about what is happening with Renewable energy, getting a <br />better score next time on the RP3 report, and then a little bit on smart grid. <br />
