The Minnesota I~storical Society has contacted the City to require that an archeological survey of <br />the site be conducted (as outlined in the DNR grant agreement). We are currently working with an <br />approved archeologist to sluveythe site this spring. The survey needs to be completed prior to any <br />final reimblusement of DNR grant monies. Staff is working on acquiring funding for this <br />archeological survey through various state/university grant funds. <br />The cost to the City for the development of the site is m;t,;mal as according to the concept plan <br />submitted for the grant. This includes the cost of a gate, parking area and trails. The cost to the city <br />for the acquisition of Baily Point for the DNR grant is $39,558 plus the $20,952 for the Lions Park <br />mitigation.
