i2~o~/zoii <br />(purpose continued) <br />INSTILL THE VALUES OF: <br />CARING <br />Show a sincere concern for others <br />HONESTY <br />Be truthful in what you say and do <br />RESPECT <br />Follow the golden rule <br />RESPONSIBILITY <br />Be accountable for your promises and actions <br />Our Impact on Community <br />FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT <br />In less than two years the Elk River Y has matched 82 youth with a <br />positive adult role model through the Mentors Inspiriting Success <br />Program which is a collaboration with Sherburne County's Health <br />and Human Services Division and is funded by the Office of <br />Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention <br />Since opening our doors in the fall of 2008, 149 youth have gained <br />speaking skills, self-confidence and time management skills by <br />participating in The Vouth in Government Program <br />Last summer we provided a place for 229 unduplicated youth to <br />learn, grow and thrive during the summer through our summer <br />programs <br />Each month over 4000 kids between [he ages of six weeks and ten <br />years of age come to [he Y to play in a safe and fun environment <br />so their parents can become healthier <br />Our Impact on Community <br />FOR HEALTHY LIVING <br />• The Y offers fitness options for people of all ages and abilities - on <br />average we get the opportunity to have a healthy impact on over <br />1000 people each day. <br />• We offer an opportunity for homeschool youth [o socialize and be <br />physically active through our PHD program (Physical, Healthy and <br />Driven) <br />This year we have offered over <br />4400 opportunities for people to <br />build new relationships, increase <br />self-esteem and ' <br />self-confidence with our <br />group exercise classes ~ <br />2 <br />
